Back to topicsTips for teaching RE with PowerPoint
- Start with what students know. Ask what they already know about a faith before you begin, and correct misconceptions gently.
- Use real voices. Quotes from believers and sacred texts show how faith is lived, not just described.
- Compare respectfully. Look at similarities and differences between religions with a respectful tone.
- Show images of worship. Pictures of places of worship, festivals and artefacts bring beliefs to life.
- Discuss big questions. Leave time for students to share and justify their own views.
- Link to the exam. Finish with a short evaluate question so students practise weighing different views.
